It’s calendar season again! Five of my shots in TWO calendars this year!
Three shots in
Railways of Canada by BrownTrout Publishers and two shots in Canadian Trains buy Wyman Publishing (BrownTrout).
BNSF in here, both on their own, as well as helping out the West Coast Railway Association’s Royal Hudson. An old one of the Rocky Mountaineer in its old colourway and another of 2141 of the Kamloops Heritage Railway.
A BNSF mixed freight through White Rock, BC.
During the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, the West Coast Railway Association ran a few trips with the Royal Hudson out to White Rock. Seen here on a return trip through Burnaby.
An old one of the Rocky Mountaineer I shot in Burnaby, BC, westbound nearing the end of its journey. Same spot as the Royal Hudson photo, though in early summer.
Thank you All Canada Photos once again for getting the shots out there!
The Royal Hudson 2010 Olympics excursion once again. Almost looks like a flipped image of the one in Railways of Canada. I believe this was an outbound trip, heading east.
The Kamloops Heritage Railway’s 2141 leaving the station on a late summer eve.

A photo I shot from the Rocky Mountaineer “Sea to Sky Climb” was published in
This was in 2008 when this ride was called the Whistler Mountaineer. It’s a beautiful trek up to Whistler and back, through some of the best the coast has to offer. You can see more of my train photos on Frommer’s Far & Wide: A Weekly Guide to Canada’s Best Travel Experiences. All Canada Photos.
Frommer’s Far & Wide: A Weekly Guide to Canada’s Best Travel Experiences. A wee bit cropped heading through the Cheakamus Canyon.
Train Travel by DK Publishing. Not sure about a Vista dome though! On the Canadian, it’s a Park Car. “Do you like long trips?” Hell yeah!
Well, this is a first … a photo in a children’s book entitled
Train Travel by DK Publishing. I shot this one back in 2008 in North Burnaby. VIA’s Canadian (Train #2) lead by locomotive 6403, an EMD F40PH-2. Painted in a livery celebrating the 50th anniversary of CBC Radio, which was already a few years past and putting on quite the smoke show. This used to be one of my favourite spots to shoot. On the way home from work, and on a bike route – it was easy shooting. See more of my train photos at All Canada Photos.
Another crop of 6403 sans smoke show.
