INNO Bakery invited me to attend their wedding show as an exhibitor back on March 11-12. It was a fairly intimate affair with plenty of beautiful wedding cakes on display. It allowed me a chance to get out there and mingle with other Tri-Cities businesses and drum up a little business myself for the upcoming wedding season. The other exhibitors were Coquitlam Florist, First Services Hospitality, Fitness on the Go, Kowalski Photo, One Stop Party Rental, Poco Inn & Suites and Wedding Delight. SNAP Coquitlam came by to do a little report on the whole event for their next issue. Big thanks to the folks at INNO Bakery for inviting me!
I also had a draw for a free engagement portrait session… which will take place later this summer.

In September of 2002, Dustin Guenther, Dave Osato, Jason Enns and I took a road trip up Vancouver Island, through the Inside Passage to Prince Rupert and then drove back towards Vancouver. The trip was for Chase BMX Magazine and probably the highlight of the trip for me was a trip on BC Ferries’ Queen of the North. It was a cold and rainy day when we boarded in Port Hardy, and it only got worse as we headed north through some massive waves where the ferry careened from side to side. After seeing porpoises swim alongside us and whales play in the distance, we finally entered the Inside Passage where the clouds broke and the sun came out.

Now that you’re at the blog, you may notice that it looks a little bit different…. and if you pop over to one of the galleries, you’ll notice that too has changed. I decided to switch all my portfolio over to Viewbook, which basically allows me more time shooting and less time mucking around with web galleries. Making the switch did involve a few hurdles, (.com to .ca) one of which was getting used to the “canned” look of a hosted service as opposed to getting in and coding everything myself from scratch. In the end, I’m pretty happy with the way Viewbook handles the galleries, and it’s mobile friendly which is a must these days. I’ve refined the image selection a bit and I’ve definitely added some new work in the commercial category. There’s a few more galleries that I have in mind for the near future and the rainy winter weather has been giving me the time to work on all that.

I shot a few more Dekerf frames and forks back in December. Simply beautiful bikes.
