A photo I shot from the Rocky Mountaineer “Sea to Sky Climb” was published in Frommer’s Far & Wide: A Weekly Guide to Canada’s Best Travel Experiences. This was in 2008 when this ride was called the Whistler Mountaineer. It’s a beautiful trek up to Whistler and back, through some of the best the coast has to offer. You can see more of my train photos on All Canada Photos.
Chemainus is a small town on the east coast of Vancouver Island, BC just south of Nanaimo. Most notably, you may have heard of Chemainus because of its live theatre and murals, which are beautiful and throughout the town. It truly is Vancouver Island’s Arts Town.
All the materials are now hitting the streets: brochure, ads, banners, website and billboards. It’s amazing to see it all come to light. The banners and billboards, as large as they are – hold their quality. This is where the RAW files from my Nikon D800 really shined. Primal did fantastic work here on the design and rebrand.
Everybody I met in Chemainus was warm and welcoming and such a treat to work with. A big thank you to everyone at Primal Communications in Nanaimo, the Chemainus BIA, the Best Western Plus Chemainus Inn and all the artists and volunteers we met. There will always be a place in my heart for this little village by the sea.
More images on their website!
I’ve been posting a lot of my old BMX photos up on Instagram over the past few years. (Since June, 2011?!) Despite the bulk of material that is up there, I still have more. Primarily a mix of photography and typography with the odd photo of my daughter thrown in.
INNO Bakery invited me to attend their wedding show as an exhibitor back on March 11-12. It was a fairly intimate affair with plenty of beautiful wedding cakes on display. It allowed me a chance to get out there and mingle with other Tri-Cities businesses and drum up a little business myself for the upcoming wedding season. The other exhibitors were Coquitlam Florist, First Services Hospitality, Fitness on the Go, Kowalski Photo, One Stop Party Rental, Poco Inn & Suites and Wedding Delight. SNAP Coquitlam came by to do a little report on the whole event for their next issue. Big thanks to the folks at INNO Bakery for inviting me!
I also had a draw for a free engagement portrait session… which will take place later this summer.
